About Me

I have been practicing therapy as a licensed therapist since 2010. My therapeutic background includes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (or DBT) with teens and families. I was part of the Contra Costa County Central Clinic for Children, Adolescents and Families in Concord, California, for several years. I co-facilitated DBT groups for teens and their parents and met for individual therapy with suicial teens. I also worked with younger children and their family on issues like childhood trauma and attachment challenges.

In addition, I worked for several years with acutely mentally ill young adults helping them with financial responsibility and becoming more self reliant. I initiated a DBT program for this population and was very successful helping many acutely mentally ill clients become more functional.

Currently, I focus my practice on adults. I do very well with adults who are still struggling with childhood trauma and attachment issues. I have a history of childhood trauma and attachment challenges, so I know these issues well. The Work has been a powerful tool for me, and I have facilitated clients moving through abusive patterns through The Work.

I also use The Work with adult clients who want to feel more empowered and/or work through patterns of depression and anxiety. These patterns almost always have their roots in childhood, and The Work goes right to the core of the matter quickly.

I am also well versed in Projective Dream Work, as taught and created by Jeremy Taylor. Although I am not certified (Jeremy died before I was able to complete the program), I was part of projective dream work groups for over ten years as a participant and leader.

And, DBT and Mindfulness makes it into my work, also, especially when clients are wanting coping skills and stress reduction. I completed all of the training offered about DBT through the county. I also have a Mindfulness Certificate for teaching teens/children through the Marin Mindfulness Institute. These skills transfer nicely to work with Adults.
